Even some very familiar with the BMW brand forget the styling of years ago. Grilles are a strange thing in memory and reality. I don't particularly like the big grilles as we have in the 7-series. But do like the fresh look which has heritage in the longer grills, like we now see in the 4-series and M3/4. Cars like the picture and even the E9 models are something to reflect on, when we think BMW have lost the plot these days. Peter
I had thought of including the 328, but was minded many marques of the period also had the long grilles of a similar form. BMW kidneys became more a distinguishing trade mark in later models. BTW, what a lovely example! Peter
those photos of the 328 were taken in the BMW museum in Munich so probably better than new but yes a very nice example
Congratulations on the new car. I always liked the look of the 4 Gran Coupe and it looks the perfect compromise for size and comfort. I particularly like the interior leather upgrade which takes it to a higher level imho. Would be interested to hear how you get on with the comfort aspect of the car with the adaptive M suspension having come from a bigger car which generally will provide superior ride comfort.
the BMW individual Merino leather is very nice and does lift the cabin a lot l am very happy with the way the interior of the car looks l have done around 350 miles in the car since collection and 100 miles of that was today and that was the first time the wife had been out in the car so the drive was mostly sedate and well behaved and when you have the car in comfort mode and just leave the car to do its thing the ride is very good the road noise is a bit louder in this car than it was in the 6 GT but some of that may be down to the dreaded Bridgestone run flats that the car is shod with l will update ths thread as l spend more time in the car and explore the way the it behaves handling and comfort wise
Oh, now that IS lovely, right up my street especially with extended leather and that colour combo. Congrats. You’ve gone from a forgettable 6GT to a real head turner there. Great choice.
thanks l am really pleased with the car so far one option that was on the must have list was the HUD after having it in the 6GT l got used to using it and it was a must have on the 6GT replacement
we went out on a shopping trip to Aber this morning so l took the opportunity to grab a few shots of the car when l got home as l didn't have any shots that l had taken myself. so here is a few more images of the car and one interior shot
it is very nice to hold when driving but what worries me at the moment is what it will hold up like with all the hand sanitiser that we are still all using
not sure about the flat cap just yet. today the baseball cap was on backwards the car was in sport plus mode and it was laying down some rubber not my usual style of driving but it had to be done at least once just to see what the car can do
