well today was collection day for my approved used F36 440i Gran coupe from Listers BMW King's Lynn the car is a September 2018 build date and is finished in snapper rocks blue with a black extended merino leather interior and a few other nice touches added to the interior the car is just over three years old but has only covered 4500 miles from new and is still in excellent Condition. it has the B58M engine and the 8 speed ZF auto box and it is a great combination of chassis engine and gear box with a good amount of options to complete the package all the images are stolen from the BMW approved used listing as l have not taken any pictures of my own yet but will do in due course but will have to wash the car first as after the 220 mile drive home the car has a good amount of road grime so no pictures just yet as many of you will know l have just sold my 2019 G32 640i X Drive that was fully loaded with most available options and it was an absolutely fantastic car but it was just to big for daily use it was perfect for crossing continents or mile munching on the motorways but around the houses and the supermarket car parks it was just to big to live with so it had to go and the search started for a smaller alternative l like the four door with a tailgate hence the 5 GT and the 6 GT so the F36 Gran Coupe seemed to be an ideal choice to downsize to and the search started a couple of weeks ago and today l went to collect my new car first impressions it is a very nice package and ticks a lot of the boxes for me. on the drive home the car was a real pleasure to drive and the smaller size seems to be more manageable around the country roads around mid wales a quick stop at Tesco's M6 junction 2 Coventry proved that it fits in a supermarket parking space. all l have to do now is to work out how to get in and out of it a little more gracefully as coupe style cars aren't really made for 60 plus people who's joints and agility aren't what they used to be
What a cracking colour,it looks great. Wish you many happy miles in it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
As I said to you separately @mach one - fabulous looking car and delighted to hear you’re so pleased with it.
when l first saw the car i thought that is an unusual colour that you rarely see but since then l have noticed lots of Suzuki Peugeot and other brands in a similar colour when l arrived home my neighbour said that's a nice colour and described it as kingfisher blue but it is a very nice colour
@Spuffington it was always going to be hard to find a replacement for the 6 GT and l was fully aware that l would have to accept some compromise when downsizing but after my first day in the F36 l really enjoyed it and with the 40i engine coupled with the sportier 4 series chassis it drives really well completely different to the luxo barges that l have been running for the last few years and l am very happy with the choice of the 6GT replacement
An absolute cracker. The spec and overall package looks to be spot on. Enjoy that engine and chassis. Wishing you many happy smiles.
Thats a lovely colour, i had a 430D Gran Coupe on loan a while back, very nice looking car, enjoy your new purchase
What a cracking looking car you have got yourself, love it. I have also very much enjoyed downsizing a little. Nice to be in something more nimble but still quite punchy. Looks like a super spec, I spy full leather. Enjoy many happy miles with it.
l plagiarised your thread title and changed one number in the hope that the plagiarism checker wouldn't spot it
yes the car has extended merino leather so that is a step up from what the 6GT had with Dakota leather and a sensatec dash. so the dash on the F36 is much nicer

I don’t think there is anything left on the options list for that particular car. Do you have CarPlay? I would suspect you have the I6 software on that age of car.
yes it is the l6 software but l have no idea about car play as l do not own an i phone. l have an android and BMW don't even acknowledge that android auto even exists somebody was certainly click happy with the options list
Congrats, looks very nice indeed! Only option I was looking for if i chose another BMW would have been all round camera, think the new 3 series has it under park assistant plus and the old models have it as surround-view? Kev
This is the exact argument I’m having with my good friend who owns a Passat CC. He thinks it’s a coupe as it says it in the name, I read him the dictionary definition of the word most times I see him, gets him really wound up…. I wouldn’t think of saying the same to Neil though.
