    Interesting idea that, Sean.

I have to confess, I'm more old skool when it comes to campers and like the VW, BUT they are incredibly overpriced and you have to be so careful with the quality of the fit outs if buying one already done. If you're doing it yourself, hats off, but don't underestimate the man hours required. Check out some links on Pistonheads for some self builds which have turned out well, but taken forever.

Other thing to bare in mind is how your son would cope. Campers are small and the idea of being locked up on a rainy day with our daughter in our big van is pretty difficult to comprehend but in a camper...........someone would die! Most likely my wife! :p

But I like that Nissan for being different and looks better value than the VW brigade as well as being well built. Go and have a look, would be my suggestion.........! ;)

That has to have the biggest cheesy grin of any vehicle on the road.

Is it a petrol - what's it like on fuel?

Your correct, the VW scene is inflated into ridiculous pricing, perhaps for a reason?
So I've been searching alternatives including Vito and Vivaros which still command premiums for what they are, then stumbled over these, a lot more research to do, though looking at the finished example, their every bit as impressive as the VDubs, with interior kits relatively cost effective when compared to the finished.
The rainy day thing has no comprehension with my son unfortunately, the most I get is Dad I'm wet, no need for shower tonight!
Ultimately, my plans are 2016 focused, but a bit of research now and possible out of season purchase may merit a change in mindset! Though I'm still waiting for the trailer tents to come out of season too, so looking like a busy Autumn!

The one in picture is 2.5 v6 petrol, though 3.5 v6 would appear top of the range, several vans litter Autotrader, all Japanese imports with relatively low mileage, I'm sure all Nissans fair well with reliability.....
