Hi all, new to the site but not to Bimmers, well it was a long time ago when I last owned any, I had two many yrs ago but after having various other cars in between I've had another Bimmer, about two months ago I came across my 2010 318d e91, business edition touring, wheels were corroded, front bumper had a start system of its own with the amount of stone chips, windscreen plastic trim wasn't fitted properly where it meets the wing (broken clip) , a few minor scratches here and there , boot struts were all flakey. Anyway I've slowly been making it look like new , I resprayed the front bumper, I had my wheels stripped and fully refurbished, I machine polished any scratches out , replaced all interior bulbs with leds, same for reg plate on the back, removed the caged bulb angel eyes and replaced with an led upgrade kit, swapped headlight bulbs for some nice white bulbs, new led got bulbs , wind deflectors, new badges all round (black n white) boot, bonnet, steering wheel and wheel center caps, new boot struts in the post, new crank case breather pipe replaced, fitted new clip for windscreen trim so it sits flush now, also the welcome lights and home lights were not working same for the auto stop/start function, I brought a new AGM battery got it fitted and coded and those functions all work now and most importantly i did an oil and filter change , even though the last one was done beginning of the Yr. I love the car and it looks a thousand times better now, I could see the potential in it and managed get the dealer to knock off a fair bit on the price , right I'll shut up now
Oh, I've uploaded pictures in my album , I know its no speed demon but its mine and I love it

Posting pics is very easy - just click on the button on the lower right hand side marked 'upload a file'.

Just check that you opt for 'show full size' after they have uploaded.

Cheers slim and thank you , its looking like a different car from when I brought it, even the little things like replacing the window clip so the trim fits properly , bmw valve caps and wheel nuts make a world of difference

I just hope it repays me my only real worry is the timing chain, I know they can be bad but apparently on the e91's before mine which is a 2010, I have no idea if its ever been changed , when I brought it it came with past mot's and receipts for work done over the last few yrs, two yrs ago it had a new DPF , thats the only biggish job I know its had, its had oil and filter changes for the last few years too so I'm hoping the engine has been looked after and has had a new chain at some point. All I can do is give regular oil changes and hope it serves me well, it runs smoothly, idle is smooth and to be honest for a 318d its pretty responsive even in 5th and 6th it pulls when hit the peddle, doesn't feel bad for 143 horses , my car before this was an audi a4 s line 2.0l tsfi 225bhp and my bimmer is just as responsive, not as fast obviously but it gets up there pretty well.
