Hi, I have a E92 320D (2.0D) with a N47 engine. The swirl flap rod seal is leaking where the actuator fits. Its giving issues on low revs as its a boost leak. Has anyone come across this and know where to get the seal/gromet from? Thanks
Had a good search and can't find any articles specifically about this issue, can find plenty about deleting the swirl flaps altogether but nothing about this, don't think the seal is sold separately either https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=KK31-EUR-10-2009-E92N-BMW-320d&diagId=11_5442 Might have to buy a complete inlet manifold unfortunately...seem to be about £200 or so Sorry can't be more help...
@Zed2k Can you advise if swirl flaps are still fitted? It was common for the flaps themselves to leak and under bonnet turbulence to foul the area, making it look from a different area Whilst many removed the flaps, there was good and bad fitment which were machined billet plugs If not removed it’s advisable as the engine can ingest flap The swirl flap motor can then be removed and a lump of epoxy placed over the roof and manifold
