Fantastic cars with the 140bhp engine. It was much better in the E30 than the E36 which was a lot heavier/slower. I remember looking at these about 8 years ago when they were around £3k for a good one!! Ended up with an E36 328i convertible.
Simply stunning!!! Takes me back a good few years when I owned a 320i coupe followed by 320i convertible. (wish I had them now!!!!) Enjoy the car and the forum!!!
The memories... We had four E30 models in the company at one time. I remember them all parked in a line one business meeting. A 323i, 2 320i's and a 318i. No need to guess which one I preferred driving. Memories of trips like driving across Salisbury Plain, to our suppliers, the 323i was a delight to drive. Only negative, the brakes weren't the best BMW set up, Not linear like BMW's best. Peter
Original version of the M20 engine was 2.3 litres. Later improvements gave an increase of capacity to 2.5 and the E30 325i was born. Both sweet 6-pots, but the 2.5i became the engine of choice in a lot of models. Peter
Looks lovely, still one of the best looking threes....can still see these in my mind on the track https://www.bmwblog.com/2016/08/09/1992-bmw-e30-m3-dtm-beautiful-touring-car-world/
