    I've registered on Connected Drive, have the relevant stuff in the car (EBT, Pro Media) and the app on my iPhone 5s but it's not registering on my phone. I'm clearly missing something, anyone know what I'm not doing? BMW remote works ok though.

    Have you connected your phone via a USB cable?

    No but I put in the snap-in adapter, that should work shouldn't it? How do I allow data exchange?

    You don't need to connect a cable. It can just be done via Bluetooth.
