    :ROFLMAO:

I can't speak for the £2,800 system, that is a different ball game. Mine was £1500 and doesn't include the Audison bit 10 processor or rear speakers included in the £2,800 system. I'm guessing thats the BIG ASS subwoofer package as I like to call it. I heard it in their demo X5 and the bass was brain numbingly powerful.

Now £1500 for my install sounds like a lot, but it is basically the focal speakers - £200, earthquakes - £300, amp - £400 so thats apx. £900 in hardware, plus dynamat, tweeter grilles, wiring kit, bass controller and other ancillary bits and pieces. If I was DIY'ing I would probably budget £100 ish for those ancillaries so total £1000 for parts unfitted.

This isn't what I would call audiophile grade stuff (excuse the pun), its just good, solid aftermarket stuff. It goes loud, the bass kicks hard and it doesn't distort. Getting the F10 base system just to that level alone is a lot of work and kit, because the bar is so low to begin with. It was just a fact I had to accept and get on with it.

So after spending £1000 collecting these bits myself, I would either have to DIY install it (wasn't prepared to do that for love nor money) or pay an installer who may or not have installed the same kit in a car like mine and so may or may not have known the best way to do the job to get the most out of the kit. Even the backstreet "bassbin" type shops wanted £250ish to put all of this stuff in so I figured for an extra £250, I may as well let someone who has tried and tested this job countless times do it and know that it will be a professional job. My biggest fear after any job being done on my car is there being some 'evidence' of the job being done.

The thing is, when you start dipping a toe into going aftermarket, you will start off small; perhaps £200 for some speakers. But then you might think "hmmm, these speakers could be amplified", so you add an amp. Then you think "now I've got an amp, I may as well put in some better underseat subs". And so the cycle continues. My point is, you might as well do it all at once and save yourself the back & forthing ;)

Yeah, not quite the same sound in the diesel sadly :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: But If I had your car I wouldn't need a stereo either.

I've got cloth ears, so no point in my spending loads on audio stuff, since I don't drive or live in a Concert Hall.
