    Hi.

I've got e90 lci 330d m sport which I've owned for the last 13 years with FSH. The original suspension lasted till about 18 months ago, and springs/shocks were all changed with a cheaper equivalent. These were recommended by my garage but I've never actually liked the feel and no match for the std which I really liked for the height, firmness and handling.

Now after 3000 miles the front and one rear shock is toast. I changed my job so hardly use it now, hence the low miles in 18 months. This was also the reason the garage said to go with these cheaper ones.

Apart from going back to OE what options do I have. I don't want coilovers, I'm just after a firm ride and good height and to gain some confidence without the front feeling floaty like this current kit.

    Thanks

    Questions:

How many miles has your BMW done in total?

What symptoms made you renew the springs and dampers?

What happened to the original springs?

What did you fit as a replacement?

What would your budget extend to? Don’t forget you’ll have to factor in labour, unless DIY, plus re-alignment. And give thought to the various bushes, e.g. anti-roll bars.

It's done 110000 and the original shocks lasted 107000 before they started to leak.

Due to the age I decided to get the springs changed at the same time while it was in the garage.

As for the make I haven't a clue but I did specify I wanted the same quality as previously fitted.

I did do some research years ago and I think Bilstein B something was my conclusion but I seem to remember being unsure as some confusion regarding if it was the same height of my M Sport suspension or a none m sport. I don't want it any higher and I don't want it looking like a boy racer either.

budget wise will be around the either cost of OE or Bilstein figure, labour will be on top but not including that.

Wheel alignment was checked a few months ago and found to be correct.

I did like the fact that the originals lasted for so long as I plan on keeping it for along time as I do still like the car and it's plenty fast enough fir what I need
