    How does the Mercedes ownership experience compare with BMW, would you say? I'm intrigued by the EQ range - could be a contender for when the X5 comes up for replacement in a few years. Well, either that or a hybrid XC90 perhaps..

    Very Good...mind you a lot is about the supplying dealership....Esplanade on the Isle of Wight have been superb...I'm still not sure about changing as I love my C220d estate...had it 5 years now...its top of the range Premium Plus...with airmatic suspension...tinted rear side and hatch glass...never missed a beat...and its in brilliant blue...just that its 5 years old now...and I'm not finding anything in the Mercedes range that I fancy...

    Anyways.....just joined and hope this will be a friendly nice place to be- as said above I'm into my second defection from MB, just traded my i8 and got myself a late 2017 G31 530d M Sports x Drive Touring , pics attached... Previous MB's have been an E63 AMG, SL 500 and a few other E's and C's.     Hi there
    That’s a change..i8 to 5 series touring....
    We’re you like me.... we had a 640d and our dog didn’t like it the back...? Plus caravan moving became a necessity..Resulting in a an X5 which we are delighted with.

    Just a bit I guess!
    My dog ( Hungarian wire haired Viszla) never got in the i8, I’ve got an XC90 as well currently which is his transport. We intend to change over the XC90 next year for something small and full electric , making the 5 tourer the main transport and dog transport...

    Used to be a member of the old BMW Land so thought I would re-join, Own a couple of E30 Touring's a standard 318i and a 335i with the M30 b3.5 big six in it.

    Welcome back... used to love my E30 325i M Sport back in 80's also in Lach silver like yours @Fixedwheelnut

    Here ya go, 3.5 litre M30 engine, lowered 40mm all round, M-Tech 2 kit off my old 325i, most of the interior is out of my old 325i as well, Mazda RX7 four pot callipers and VW Corrado discs up front, E46 purple tag rack, full custom stainless steel exhaust from Kevin at Zero exhausts in Bethersden http://zeroexhausts.co.uk/contact.htm

    Up close the paintwork looks like it has been cleaned with a brillo pad in the past so she needs a respray at some time.

    Still waiting to go on it I have a set of rocker cover, timing covers and inlet manifold in crackle black to go on and a full leather interior I will be changing the interior to black, currently gradually repairing and recolouring it
