G61 i5 M60 Touring
As some of you may know, I have been waiting forever for a G61 to arrive. Its a lease and there was some disagreement over whether the agreed deal when ordered in Feb would be applied to the car when available in August as it wasn't delivered in June when originally scheduled. Ultimately the dealer took the hit to make it happen so I finally got delivery yesterday...
For background its an absolutely standard i5 M60 Touring in oxide grey with smoke white interior, style 938 wheels and some grey ash trim... No extras as it is a lease and frankly BMWs way of packaging them meant I needed to have pretty much every pack to get the spec the Jag had an I wasnt prepared to pay that - so I decided to go without all! It replaces an iPace SE 2021 which I had for 3 years and 34000 miles and was not one bit of trouble, but I never really trusted it just because of the JLR reputation thing - and they have some known foibles....
Not many pictures as I was working / going out / it was dark / you... -
New car
After a bit of back and forth I’ve decided on getting rid of my G30 and get a G22. Back to a coupe like my very first bmw.
Picking it up next week.
It’s a 2020 Arctic race blue 420i and as far as I can tell the only thing it’s lacking is laser lights / visibility pack. Has all the other packs, M sport pro pack, tech plus pack, comfort plus pack.
Will be a bit sad to see this car go as it’s been great and always been admired but had it over 5yrs so think it’s time for a complete change. -
Just ordered another BMW
My wife has had her little Citroen C1 for nigh on thirteen years and as much as I love its frugality, quirkiness and cost of ownership I do find the interior space horrendous. So cramped and as much as the 3 cylinder engine has bags of character it is a little breathless.
Soooooo, we have been chewing over changing for a while. My wife likes to take her time to make decisions and adores her C1 so this will be a sad occasion when it eventually finds new ownership - but my stepson might (reluctantly) take it over as he has his test in 3 months and it only has 60k miles on it.
There was an event at Mini over the last weekend so we test drove a Mini Cooper C and loved it. What a belting car, very nippy, well appointed and priced and pretty stylish so thanks to a decent contribution from mini and a loyalty payment as well as we have a bmw already registered to our address we pulled the trigger a few hours ago and will hopefully receive a British Racing Green 3dr with black...
