Petrol and diesel are the same price - €1.36 a litre, here in Bosnia at the moment.

On the way here I paid:
    €1.66 in Rodgau, Germany
    €1.70 I Liezen, Austria
    €1.62 in Ptuj, Slovenia

On our European trip to Southern Spain earlier this year we found France more expensive than the UK even at supermarket diesel prices and Spain to be cheaper than the UK. Luckily on the way back I managed 770 miles on a tank which meant driving through France without having to fill up!

Equivalent in Euros means I can fill up in the UK at 1.68 per litre for std diesel at a local Esso. France was 1.78 Euro at a supermarket and Spain 1.56 Euro at a BP and way cheaper at a Lidl at 1.33 Euro a litre but I did not dare use their fuel.

Lobby group Fuels for Ireland has warned that an increase to excise duties on petrol and diesel from Monday will exacerbate cost-of-living challenges for consumers and businesses, and called for a planned increase in August to be deferred until at least the next budget.

The first of these increases takes effect from Monday, including a 4 cent rise in the price of a litre of petrol, and a 3 cent rise in the price of diesel. Similar hikes are also planned for August.

FFI, which represents forecourt operators Applegreen, Certa, Circle K, Greenergy, Irving Oil, LCC, Maxol, Top Oil and Valero, has reiterated calls for an expert group on taxation to be established to examine the impacts of fiscal policies related to energy.

In March 2022 the Government reduced excise duties on petrol, diesel and marked gas oil to help households and businesses dealing with rising inflation post Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and a spike in energy costs globally .Irish fuel duty and hospitality taxes to increase - BBC News

I filled in Ireland yesterday, €1.718 for Diesel.

This is around £1.471 which is comparable to UK. I have usually tanked up before I come back to the UK but might not be the case now going forward.
