Is there a diy or how to section on the site ? I don't know if I'm missing something but I can't seem to find anything

I did come across those if I remember right but they seem to be mainly questions, I was looking for section thats more dedicated to people posting diy projects with pictures/videos and step by step instructions , anything from how to change a bulb to replacing a manifold and so on. On a forum I was on years ago there was a dedicated section where members who were fixing or modding something would post up videos or step pictures and instructions so others could follow if they needed to do something.

we don't have a DlY section as such but that type of thread could go in off track chat an banter perhaps

this section is general car chat. but you do get the odd off subject thread in here and nobody seems to get to uptight about it

I see, as it ever been considered for the site to have a dedicated section for diy jobs/projects? There was a world of knowledge on the forum I was on yrs ago and was really helpful for people especially when trying to keep costs of repairs down.

I generally just use the 'search' box at the top left of the page to quickly find what discussion there has been on a particular topic in the past history of the forum.

I know on LandyZone there are an uncountable number of threads about pretty much everything that can break and be repaired or bodged to keep then running.

But lets ask 'the man in charge' if he feels there would be any support for creating a DIY section. :)

@The CO - what do you think?

I personally think its a good idea to have a dedicated section for diy/fixing projects , but that's just me , all I know is I found it really useful and saved £££'s by doing things myself and you get a great deal of satisfaction when you've completed your task .
I have used the search on here and typed some random things in but tbh most the time it came back "no results " .
Can I suggest a vote to get a general feeling from the members ?

Might be worth a vote to gain a feeling for the idea, for 1 member not interested there could be 3 that are or visa versa lol can't hurt to put the feelers out I guess

I suspect with the proliferation of electronics in today's cars, fewer owners are able to fault-find and so are used to getting their sleeves rolled up and get stuck.

There's lots of things that can still be done without being too complicated, anything from how to change a bulb , fitting new boot struts, changing fuel filters, changing coolant, pulling trim from interior, changing a bumper,, door or wing, brake pads and discs, on my car the exterior plastic windscreentrim wasn'tsitting flush where it meets the wing, turns out the windscreenhad been replaced and the fitter had put a clip in backwards and broke it trying to force the trim down, me being me rolled me sleeves up and fixed it with a new clip from bmw ,, there's so many things that can be done with the smallest of knowledge, I even had to trawl through you tube to find the bloody oil filter on my car lol I was looking underneath for one of those screw on can type oil filters which I had on all my petrol cars over time lol besides its all part the fun tinkering with your car and that feeling of satisfaction after makes you wanna do a little happy dance lol

Aye, could do if there's enough demand for it.
