Surprised nobody is interested in this article, thought there would be much love for the Alpina Estate. 600+ bhp with the dog in the back, what could possibly go wrong....

    I'm interested. :)

If I was 'wasting' that amount of money on a car, the Alpina touring would be top of the list. I'll take a miss on the dog in the boot.

The B5 Touring would be amazing, it looks pretty subtle though, even for an Alpina which have historically always been more restrained than their M cousins. Pretty expensive though!

BMW Z3 2.0i Roadster Steel Grey
    E60 530D Sapphire Black

The B3 perhaps, but they are so rare on the used market.

I will make do with the C63 S.

Alpinas do offer something, but not only are they expensive, but you can’t get the big discounts that you can on “normal” BMWs. Eg M340i 16% and even on the new M440i 12%.

Interesting that sales dropped from 300 to 100 cars a year in the UK, because they didn’t replace the original D3.

Big discounts only serve to de-value a car. They have a small niche market and probably don’t need to discount any of them as they know they will sell a certain amount every year.

Probably quite a nice position to be in at the moment
