    Mine tops up in short bursts if I have a load or people in the back. I would be more concerned if it was running for long periods as that could point to s leak.
    Maybe the pressure control is more finite with the new pump?

    Yes hopefully it is fine and just me worrying unduly. I have another longish trip with the car loaded up over Christmas so that should be a good test
