Hi Everyone, Can anyone recommend a good paint shop that could, potentially, spray most of my E46 M3 convertible. I have a really good paint shop near me, Lemass Automotive, but wanted to see what other options are out there. Has anyone had some fantastic paintwork done near me? Thanks, David
Is cost the deciding factor for your not using Lemas, or is there some other reason for not going to a/your known good paint shop?
They are not the cheapest but also not the most expensive but I am a firm believer in tendering large jobs like this as for all I know there may be another viable alternative. You should never get one quote for a job.
No, but from what you say you're considering ignoring one whose results you know to be good at a price you consider reasonable, for one recommended by someone on here which may be equally good. I really can't see much to be gained by that...... However, it's your car, your paintwork and your money so I'll bow out......
If you get an extension done do you always use the builder that did some work for you or dod you look at whether there are even better alternatives first? Seems like a no brainier to me. The worst that happens is that you feel even better about using your known provider or that you feel better about their pricing being reasonable... So, does anyone else have some recommendations?
Might be just as well getting quotes to do the whole car as well as quotes for doing most of it , in some respects there might not be much difference in price ,or time involved , especially if it s going to be in the same colour ? Suppose it depends on what you consider "most of the M3 " .
I found a very good place whilst buying the Boxster - speak to Bobby Golhar at autobodytechnic.co.uk. (Middle Langley - 10 mins from Uxbridge) Saw some very nice vehicles being worked on. Tell him Kam sent you
Thank Kam, I will check them out. You weren't up at 911 Virgin were you? They are at Langley; I got my 993 from them nineteen years ago. Cheers, David
Small world!! I did buy mine from Tom at 911, but they are now just outside of Uxbridge, where the old Ford dealership used to be ..... haven't regretted a moment of Porsche ownership
They are good guys; I dealt with a very young Tom and Henry. I found them to have a refreshingly honest approach. Are you at Pinewood Studios? I've been over there a few times in my line of work. Cheers, David
Sorry for the reply - I imagine you have sorted this looooooong ago. AutoRevive on Harvil Road in Ickenham is the best in the area. I feel like an authority in such matters as I have pranged more cars than anyone I have ever met. David who runs the shop is a top chap and extremely thorough, plus he has a racing E46 M3.
Ha ha ha! I wish I did, would’ve saved me a fortune over the years! Nope, I’m just a boring accountant. That reminds me though, must add a photo my profile - I can see why you thought I might be trying to ply my trade.
