I do a Lake's Tour every year (I'll post a link on here for next year's when I have the dates). This year I did 2 lasting 6 hours from the Lakeland Motor Museum to Pooley Bridge via Coniston Water, Torver, Birker Fell, Hardknott Pass Wrynose Pass and then through Ambleside up the Struggle to the Kirkstone Pass Inn and then onto Pooley Bridge. It's a hoot Even had a Beetle rock up
Now then ..... Dates please for next year. Good base hotel suggestion and how many days would i need up North to complete this. Is your mate on boxa.net? If not tell him to get on there ... A fair few boxster owners would be interested in a joint convertibles run i'm sure
Thanks. I'm waiting for my schedule for next year to plan around, should be out in 2-3 months then I'll get cracking. The start point is near to J36 M6 so most peeps stop in hotels in or near Newby Bridge. I usually do the run on a Saturday but the next one will be 2 runs, both different but on the Sat and Sun so Fri, Sat and Sun nights if you want to do the lot. I plan it on Zroadster.org but I will put the link up on here also. A max of 24, 3 groups of 8. My mate is on a Porker forum though not sure which one, be good to have a few more Beetles. I'll keep you posted
we call the 911's "souped up beatles" Please do post as soon as you have details - I would love to do this
I probably wont be over for the night times but fancy an early start and drive over to meet you for the sunday run
My favourite place in the world. Love the passes, did a 36 hour trip just to rag my old M3 round them a good few years back. Would love to take the M5 there and give it a workout!!!
How strange, I literally just got back from Newby Bridge, Lakeside hotel where I got wed last Friday. I borrowed an X5 from a friend and drove up to Keswick for Ghyll scrambling just yesterday. I stay at the Lakeside every August for 5 days and have driven most roads around the lakes in the last few years.
