I’ll be fitting mine next weekend to the Škoda. Desperately want a set for the M5 so it can be used s bit more in winter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Since fitting my winter tyres at the end of October, the temperature has hardly fallen anywhere near 7 Degs. The last few days have been warm, almost like late summer, but it is forecast to get colder this next week. We don't get very harsh winter weather here in Cheshire.
Had mine ready to fit, but looking at the long term forecast and seeing 13C anticipated, never changed over. We lost all the snow from the mountains and they are still clear. Lovely day today and tossed the idea around, change wheels or polish the car for the winter. Decided to give the car a quick clay and coat of protection this afternoon, tyres will probably go on this week. Temperature dropped yesterday and this morning saw 0C while out. Peter
@Peter i am sat watching the weather forecast and it looks like it is going to be a lot colder this week so it may be time to make the switch, even down here in mid wales it looks like we may be getting a few frosty mornings
First gritter of the season just drove past the house, we had hard frost overnight c/w freezing fog. Oh, joy!!
I know it is time to put my winter tyres on when the mice start nesting in the insulation under the bonnet Anyway I now have my Dunlop SP Winter Sport runflats on 17" rims on my F30 330D MSport. I had forgotten how nicely the car drives with these compared with the Bridgestone summer tyres on 18" rims. Here in SW Scotland we have already had frost and... ...a dusting of snow on the hill roads. Looking forward to more winter motoring on quiet roads Douglas
That looks beautiful Douglas, makes me want to upsticks and move, 'not sure about the mice though ! Kindest Regards Carl.
Thanks Kleynie, wasn't sure initially about diamond cuts for winter wheels but this will be their 4th winter and they're holding up nicely. As are the 403m's on the summer set no sign of the usual white worm yet. 'fingers crossed.' Kindest Regards Carl.
Did succeed in getting mine changed over today, nothing fancy to show, same old 17" wheels as last year. Gave the time for the good clean up under the wheel arches, a bit of Waxoyl, as appropriate. Peter
That is the one thing that i would have liked to do, but with the wind and cold getting the pressure washer out and getting soaked by water blown about by the wind was not high on my list of fun things to do on a Sunday morning, i did look the arches and they were a little grubby but not caked in mud and crud as i would not have been able to ignore that and would have had to clean the arches
