IMG_4271.jpeg I’ve had the X1 for almost a year now. Sometime over the summer I noticed that the wing mirror projector had patches of colour bleed. It looks as though the pattern has been damaged.
Any idea how this might happen? Would this be a potential AUC warranty claim or would it be dismissed as cosmetic?

Has the lens cracked/been damaged? Maybe some water ingress? Worth asking the dealer to check and see if it is a warranty issue.

Well Colne BMW took a look and said it’s covered. Booked in for a couple of weeks time with courtesy car all courtesy of the AUC warranty.

I remember looking for an X1 11 months ago and deciding whether to go with BMW AUC or save £1000 and get one from an indi. In the end I went with BMW AUC. The car has been impeccable except for a rear demister issue which resulted in a brand new rear screen and this issue, also covered. Courtesy car was a M135i and I have a car that’s only ever seen a BMW dealership with a flawless history down to tyre and brake servicing.
While I was at the dealership I over heard a discussion where the warranty wouldn’t cover a BMW gearbox. It had already racked up over £8000 and needed more work. I found this a little concerning so enquired as I am looking to extend my warranty, mainly for the gearbox. They told me that it was a car with a third party warranty. They were trying their best for the customer but the warranty company wasn’t having it. Had they had the BMW warranty it would have saved them a world of pain. For the slim savings I just don’t think it’s worth going outside of the BMW dealership.
