Well spotted @Adie . The photos in the original Ebay listing also seem to show a mismatch on the Rt front wing. Even if it has been repaired, you wouldn't expect such a glaring error on a car of that value?
I had paint on the nearside front wing and front passenger door of my silver E60 as some git keyed it, in day light and bright sunlight it looked perfect and you would never tell it had had new paint, but under street lights at night the new paint looked darker just like the paint on that boxster wing
The whole front of my car has been sprayed, it was done properly and it’s not noticeable and the finish is better than the original paint. That boxster looks to have also had the entire front resprayed, but what an awful job, they should have blended into the doors and not just stopped at the panel gap.
silver paint is one of the hardest paint colours to match and to get it looking right, but that paint on that boxster does look badly done, @kleynie it is on around the corner from you pop around for a look
Funnily enough the original seller of the Boxster was a salvage company who sell on Cat Cs and Ds (I did my homework) and I sent them an email asking if the car had a service history and whether it had been pranged or not. By the time they got back to me it had been sold to Ashgood, the people selling it now. The other thing that I noticed was that the Porsche badges on the rear are in the wrong place although that could just have been the previous owner just moving them around to make them more prominent.
Yes, very close to me. The front bumper looks to be the original colour but the bonnet and wing is different.
I just keep searching as have been caught out on a previous car purchase and for £35k I would want it immaculate.
Oh I see. I remember you mentioned before the paint quality is better so was curious in what way. Doesn't that mean that BMW's paint job (for want of a better word) has room for improvement?
@Merc? No. BM! BMW paint at the moment is bad for an orange peel finish and some paint colours seem to show it more than others, many may not even notice it but it is visible on a lot of cars some people get paranoid about it and have the car wet sanded and machine polished to get rid of the orange peel, if you look closely at the paint on my car you can see the orange peel but it will be staying and i wont be having it wet sanded and polished to get rid of it
Orange peel is barely noticeable on my car unless you use a magnifying glass. I certainly wouldn't be paying a detailer to remove the clear coat with a sander either. It all depends how obsessed you are I guess.
Ashgood are around the corner to me and have a few boxsters at the moment. Reviews about the dealer online look good, but what you say above about them buying cat C & D stock has put me off a little. Anyone had any experience of Ashgood's ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
well now ..... Firstly I blame @The CO Just put a deposit down on a late 2009 Porsche Boxster S gen 2 with pdk at 49k miles (3.4L flat 6). 2 owner vehicle with full service history and documentation. Adaptive lintronics, sat nav, heated seats and 19" turbo alloys. Porsche N rated tyres with 7mm tread.
Wow, that is truly stunning! I was always a bit dubious about the turbo wheels on a Boxster but they work brilliantly on yours. Where did you get the car from? And I'm happy to be blamed for something like this!
