A good run up to Carlisle for a look round to see some 'old friends' from my RAF days followed by a good run through the Lakes. Keswick, Borrowdale Valley, Honister Pass, Buttermere, Crummock Water, Cockermouth and home. Perfect.
Sounds like a great day out. I grew up surrounded by aircraft - my father was in the RAF, and when he left he worked for Avro (Hawker Siddely) at Woodford, Cheshire. That Vulcan bomber is most likely one that he worked on. I went to the air show at Woodford every year. Sadly it's gone, and is now a large housing estate.
