So had some time to kill so took a look at Peugeots offerings, the 5008. Purely to to suss it out due to middle rear being full sized seats. No test drive, I declined as then we have to go through the motions of figures etc. Spec was good, GT line with all the usual French gadgets. There was a 19 plate older shape up at £29,800! The demo I was looking at, although not for sale the guy reckons will be up for £38,000 and will have anything between 9/10k miles in the clock! Needless to say I was god smacked but new car orders for them are January 2023 delivery. Interestingly he did say some options aren’t available, like heated seats and glass roofs etc, unless you spec them. In other words some options ordinarily included in the GT line spec, have been removed and only available if you add them in the factory order. Apparently the OTR prices were updated to reflect this. No pictures as I did no test drive, and driving away from the dealership I said to Mrs A not sure if I could go from this in to one of them. I think I’d rather do a factory order for a Discovery. 4 Years ago when we were having trouble getting a X1 20i (BMW not producing them for a short time) we looked at the 3008, called in two dealers. In the first the salesman had very little knowledge of the car. The second was even worse , salesman admitted he new little about the ,so at each question he went away to ask someone. After him going twice I suggested he get the other .person to come and talk to me. That was not permitted as you have to deal with salesman you first meet End of my considering 3008
Nearly £40K for a used Peugeot…?? I’ve clearly woke up in an alternative reality, that sounds bonkers.
Makes any sort of quality nearly new used BMW sound amazing value for money 4/5/6/7/X etc etc…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh dear, disappointing customer experience. This guy seemed ok, although he had to do the same when checking the option list on the new shape and old shape. By all accounts they are pretty specced up in fairness so might be easy to forget what is and what isn’t included in the packs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I know! I couldn’t believe the just shy of 30k price for a 2019. The guy said he too says they are charging a few grand more than what it should be due to supply and demand. Not sure what the approved used warranty is on the Peugeots, but I’d want it as long as possible for the electrical gremlin! It does make BMW etc more attractive considering the reliability. It does annoy me and make me laugh at just how little many of the car sales staff actually know about their products. The BMW salesperson didn’t know what came with the various options packs, neither did they know which wheels were the the style 797…. He had to keep looking things up on their system. All about the finance.
Car sales staff ---- the guy who we bought the X1 from(main dealer with few depots) spend a while explaining it was a 2wd but it was possable to get it in 4wd. This was while the badge on the side said xDrive which he explained was the 2wd model.
