Hi Everyone. Newbie just joined. X3 driver this last 8 years. Had a problem with tyres so joined up to read and learn from forum members. Andy Forbes.
Hello and welcome Andy. Always good to read of a new member. We all love some photos of the cars, details and options etc.
Welcome Andy! We’re a small, quiet but friendly bunch. As above, pics and experiences welcomed. Which X3 do you have? I had an F25 for a couple of years from a couple of years old. Was a thoroughly enjoyable drive. What’s your issue with tyres? I’m guessing if it’s xDrive then you need to be running * marked tyres to keep the transfer box from lunching itself.
Hi. It’s a 2019 model X3. I had a slow puncture on the rear right tyre. It’s fitted with * rated Michelin run flats all round. I was looking for advice on what difference of tread depth I’m allowed if I only changed one tyre on the axle. It was academic anyway as my local dealer didn’t have any Michelins in stock so I had them fit 2 x Pirelli Cinturatos. Blooming expensive though, £250 per tyre. The Michelins would’ve been about £280 each I think. I last put a new full set on in May 2022 at £720 for 4. I got 37,000 miles out of them before the puncture. There’s still plenty of life left in the front ones. So hopefully these will last as long.
