Parcel drop in the mail today!

New addition for the X5. I just hope it works when I put it on. Should be like for like, including lane guidance rumble etc and all the airbag was included.

Nice! If I can convince myself the Cayenne was ever fixed and worth holding on to, I’d also like to get an alcantara retrim. Looks lovely.

Good luck with refitting - I replaced my motorhome wheel with a retrimmed unit and it was a pig.....even without electrics and airbag.

Thanks guys, this isn't a retrim. I'm not too fussed on the retrims, some are ok, but some retrim over the existing leather which makes it look a really chunky wheel!

I'll have my old one to to keep as a spare in case I scratch that itch to sell, I can put it back on.

Fitting was ok, although I thought battery was where cabin filter was as this has the 7 seats. But no I found it under the bolted down plastic spare tool holder!

Not like the old days where you took a wheel off and could put it on at whatever angle as BMW have a marking and indentation for it to line up straight again.

I also did this in a E90 a few years back so familiar with the fiddleness to get the airbag out!

Ahh yes! I’m so surprised what a difference it makes. The other leather was starting to see better days and getting sticky as it does. I wasn’t able to clean it as it was already patchy.

Ahh.. yes I thought that’s what you were getting at.

Hopefully not but who knows… it actually looks pretty new which is odd as it’s for a F15 which obvs is no longer produced.

No need to be sorry, sadly it is a possibility this day and age.

That's a nice steering wheel. Are you planning on doing some rally stages? Just wondered about the red 'dead centre' strip. :D

Ha, now that would be fun!

So er in doors drove with it today. I got a "It is nice isn't it"! So glad it passed the wife approval standards... I may have been a bit sketchy on the price :whistling:
