2018-2 is certainly available on eBay, Amazon and other places - but not on the download manager. I checked my diary and last year I downloaded the 2017-2 maps on the 11th July - so hopefully we'll have them in the next couple of weeks Still no joy with sending a route to the car either.
really @Singvogel All i do is:- Open "bmw remote" app on my phone Go to map Type in a post code i'm going to Then i press the arrow with circle round it on he right of the screen and find it usually zooms into my address so i press on the address bar at the top and re-type/select post code, then it moves to the destination and shows a red dot with a flag. Click on the flag and Send to vehicle comes up Try it and see If i remember correct i just type in my bmw connect username that you login to bmw map downloader with. Kev
I'd like to do that, but ............ The 'My BMW Remote' app was recently disabled, and is no longer able to be downloaded other than an info page saying it has been superseded. What you get is a redirect to the latest BMW Connected app - the one with a blue globe in the logo. An older BMW Connected app - the one with the reddish background is still available but it cannot be active at the same time as the latest app, in that when you connect to the car using a USB cable only one of them works. Not good.
Not teaching you to suck eggs Bob, but presumably you have removed both from your device and then installed one and tried it? If that does not work, remove it and install the other one and see if that will work. Process of elimination.
Yes indeed - tried all that, before raising the issue here. Sending a destination is no problem at all - it appears in messages almost immediately. It's only sending a route that doesn't work for me.
OK. Same problem here also. It says the route has been sent but nothing appears in the car. There is a work around that works.... Send multiple destinations to the car (the route). Each new one starts from the last one! So as you get the the last , you cancel it, and start the next one in sequence. Have you used the following site? https://www.bmw-routes.com/uk/en/routes/index.jsp It works a treat. Just put the route on the USB stick the evening before and when you get in the car, put the USB stick in the car and import it. I know it is working because I tried it last night in anticipation to your reply today. Also just now before sending this.
Thanks for that. As you suggest, sending multiple destinations that one can use in succession would be one answer. I haven't tried the USB stick method yet, but I have a 250 mile journey tomorrow so will set up a USB stick tonight to give it a try.
When I do the USB stick method, I put everything onto the USB stick from the start and not save to desk top and then extract to stick. Less confusion, and quicker. When you think about it, anyone could do this when traveling around Europe with a laptop.
A usb definitely sounds like the easiest option. Sending multiple destinations would be a pain for a long journey.
