When it was brand new and pretty damned expensive it was £550 (2 years ago), then went to £750 last year and this year £1315. As I say nothing has changed since I took out insurance with Hastings direct when it was brand new out of the showroom. They are absolutely having us over the scumbags!!!!!!!
Renewed my policy for the M5, Range Rover and Kodiaq and it went down by about £40 compared to last year. Nothing changed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry for the late reply, been away for the weekend to a friends 60th birthday celebrations! I'm sure if i lived in the Ukraine my insurance would probably be cheaper I live in Dorset, Blandford to be more precise, and i am a Mil Vet (27 years Service) left in 2003, i have both Defence Discount & Blue Light cards too. Will be doing a bit more shopping around/searches now i'm back home.
Update on my renewal......... I've now cancelled it and moved to Adrian Flux, much cheaper and includes all the mods i've done, my renewal wasn't completely up to date as hadn't declared the new wheels & tyres i had fitted back in August as thought i'd wait for renewal time (bit naughty i know ) Have also added some extra cover for other things and icluded breakdown cover, and still cheaper than my renewal. MOT & service tomorrow plus the drivers airbag safety recall, so hopefully everything goes ok.
Some time ago, I was insured with LV for quite a few years. Every renewal that came was reasonable, until one arrived was double the premium. I had full NCB and never made a claim, so I've no idea what caused the change. I've had numerous quotes since, and they are always one of the most expensive. It just proves that you cannot apply logic to insurance companies.
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis says best time is 20 to 26 days ahead of expiry / renewal. One of those days will likely be a Wednesday.
Renewal time again. My existing insurer AXA, has hiked the premium from £298 last year to £564. So scanned the comparison sites and the best was RAC Insurance at £365. Not too bad considering.
Renewal time again. Last year there was slight increase in premium to £366. For whatever reason, this year the renewal quote has dropped to only £302! All policy details and conditions, excess etc. - unchanged. That makes a welcome change! Heineken Refreshes the Parts Other Beers Cannot Reach.
Well done! It may still be worth a look on comparison sites, if for no other reason just to have a nosey
Insurance is generally cheaper this year. Just because your renewal has gone down doesnt mean there isnt better value out there.
Renewal for 08/05/26 came through this morning. M340i is £594.43 (12K miles, Admiral Gold Tier, Comp, Legal, Windscreen, Business) Boxster is £340.95 (5K miles, as above) House £344.38m (contents, buildings, legal etc) I'm pretty sure I can get the M340i a better price, but as a joint policy I think it all works ok for me. For the first time ever I think I will just let it auto-renew! Will do a comparison, but it sure gets to be a PITA to do all three....
That’s not bad! Last year I paid £1.2k for the Discovery, £900 for the motorhome and £1.5k for the Porsche. Not sure what the house was but getting on for £800 IIRC.
