It's a near-immaculate W211 E550 with just over 32,000 miles on the clock. It's even fitted with brand new Mercedes spec Continental tyres. The only modification is a Dynavin Android head unit.

It's quick but very refined, almost too refined I'd say. Mind you I haven't played with any of the sport settings yet!
    Insurance isn't too bad either.

EDIT: It's so clean because it's a Japanese import. The two giveaways are that the speedo is in km, and also there was no E550 sold in the UK, it was badged the E500 here.

Here are some pics, taken by the dealer, not me:

That looks an absolute peach, incredibly straight and clean. Those seats look like they've never been sat in, amazing.

    How does it sound?

    Beautiful! Looks super clean.

Only thing it needs is a full set of OEM mats.

EDIT: see they’ve got Merc plastered over them. Are they original or a retrofit? Something about them doesn’t look right.

Almost silent when it's ticking over, like a typical V8 when I put my foot down, but quite muted.

Any modification plans, or are you keeping it OEM?

I think I'll keep it as it is. I'm going to have it sealed underneath though, I know someone who can do it.

It's a Japanese import, which is why it's so clean, so perhaps it's because of that.

    Lovely.

No salt on Japanese roads. Quite a few E39 imports from there have come to the UK.

I wouldn't get it sealed. If you watch Youtube, South Main Auto, based in the rust belt of the US, he absolutely slates underbody coatings. In his experience they cause far more problems that they solve. At any place the coating isn't perfect, or becomes compromised, they allow salty water in. It then is trapped close to the steel. Cars with it rust far faster (under the coating).

That is lovely, I had a silver W211 (just an E220) for a while and they are fantastic cars.

I do like it, but the "waftiness" is taking some getting used to, when compared to the E39.

Different type of car completely. One will waft along and the other will drive along.

Looks in wonderful condition, Mercs are very different to BMW, I like them, this looks like a real cruiser...

It's a cruiser, but press the 'S' button and it becomes a real bruiser!
