Hope you are all well. Haven't been on the forum for a couple of years, good to see the familiar names still updating regularly! My experience on the BMWLand since 2010 has been extremely good and always had great advice from knowledgable members. I own Retro Classics in Bradford (retroclassicautomotive on IG), West Yorkshire - 80s, 90s and 00s cars I showcase and sell. We have exhibited cars at the BMW meets at Gaydon a couple of times and will be there this year too. Plus over the years my friend/business partner and I have built a private car collection, which currently sits as follows - Bentley Continental Flying Spur Lexus GS300 Sport BMW 750iL Individual- Vermont Green Toyota MR2 Mk1 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Executive Mercedes S63 AMG Mercedes S55 AMG BMW X5 4.8is M Mercedes W124 E280 Limousine Toyota Celica GT Range Rover SVR Audi RS6 BMW E38s and of course E39s have always been my favourite- still looking for that E39 M5 in Scarab Green with Caramel Heritage leather - unicorn vehicle that I'll probably have to spray and mod myself to get the required spec. So hoping to become more active on here this year - got lots of car related stuff I'd like to share, not all BMW related taking into account the above collection, but look forward to chatting to some old friends and new. Have a great weekend Sent from my SM-S938B using Tapatalk
Some lovely machinery there, great collection. If I get some time next time I’m up seeing my mum/Gran (they live in Wyke), I may drop in. The MR2 is lovely.
Great to see you back on here, I was wondering how your now, not so new, venture was going. Please do keep sharing, particularly the BMW content but I think enough of us have moved away from BMWs (if only temporarily) that we’re keen on seeing all sorts.
I'm more than a little puzzled. I 'googled' Retro Classic Automotive in Bradford, with a view to drop by on my next trip south, only to discover that it says that the business is 'permanently closed'. Also Companies House on gov.uk tells me that the company was dissolved on the 18th of July 2024. What's the reality?
Correct and correct. Retro Classic Automotive was our spotlit dealership site, which I ran for 3 years. I recall posting on here when I first started and was wished well by everyone. We had a bumper first year and sold over 60 cars in that year. Good times. Sadly, around the time the Ukraine War started, our sales were severely impacted by the increase in the cost of living. Everyone was so worried about their bills that buying a 2nd or 3rd car was no longer a primary consideration. So after funding the business out of my own pocket for almost a year, I had to make a choice and consequently the company went into liquidation. It was very tough time as I really did put my heart and soul into RCA. This year, I decided to restart, and 'Retro Classics' was the result. It is early days and this is a completely new business, with a different operating model - gotta move with the times! I now predominantly sell vehicles on behalf of clients and have some interesting stock incoming, such as a Bentley Arnage Red Label and even a Range Rover (which really aren't worth much given you can't insure the damn things!). I hope that clarifies the position @Singvogel As always and as expected, my fellow BMWLanders on point Thanks for the comments Gents Sent from my SM-S938B using Tapatalk
Thanks @Spuffington and I trust you and the family are well. I look forward to hearing more about you car escapades over the days as I have a look at the 'unread' section. Sent from my SM-S938B using Tapatalk
