That is very dodgy, but eBay won’t do anything and neither will the police I suspect I think lasers from BMW are around £2500 a side as some poor bloke on another forum had a stone crack the light and I am sure that was the charge stated.
This has to be incredibly frustrating given that the GFV of the car should increase slightly with the addition of these, and the financed amount would be a reduced number, just the increase in interest rate driving up monthlies! Real shame that they can't leave the GFV at the lower number and the finance the same, as the only person this would ever impact is you if you were to hand the car back at the end of the finance period. I really hope it doesn't become a "niggle" to you about the car and something you miss/wish you had.
As much as I was wanting this upgrade I’ve put it down as a “oh well” reaction. Nothing I can do about it now, so no point getting annoyed. Still ridiculously excited about the car being delivered. This isn’t going to spoil that.
I know I was of the opinion you should get the spec you want, but I am 99.999% confident that you will not “miss” this one. (Unless yours also has the HBA button that doesn’t work, then it’ll annoy you! )
Update: moved to code 112, scheduled for daily production. This means that it is about to go onto the production line, could be any day, but no later than WB 24/10. The delivery is now scheduled for week 46, WB 14/11. So things are moving forward. Hopefully!
Wait until it hits 150 which is scheduled for body/paint shop as it would have received its chassis number. From then it will be around 4 to 5 days and it will be built.
I know you have a check list, but, are you aware of the implications of the various codes. A simplified list: 112 Order scheduled for Production 150 Production Started 151 Body Shop Started 152 Paint Shop Started 153 Assembly Started 155 Production Completed 112 – an approximate date to start the ball rolling 150 – get all the bits needed to the Dingolfing assemble plant: pressings, drive train, trim, etc. God knows where they have to come from. And when that’s 100% done and not before - 151 – assemble the pressings 152 – add a nice colour 153 – fix trim, drive train etc. 155 – Give it a final check and move it out. 151 to 155 shouldn’t take more than a day or two. I’m inferring that on the basis of production of 1500 vehicles per day, and the production lines not holding more than 3000 vehicles at any one time. And then the delivery to UK, PDI, and delivery to dealer, registration etc; add another few days at least, perhaps a week to 10 days is more realistic. Hopefully the 150 is wrong, and a computer glitch It’ll be a nice Xmas present.
The car is at status 155 now, so it’s an actual completed car! Estimated to arrive in the UK WB 14/11. Looks like I might have it WB 21/11. Fingers crossed.
