I'm a complete novice at this so I think I need some help guys.

I'm looking to buy some coding bits to connect the car to my laptop.

I'm not looking to do anything too ambitious.

Add the tyre temperatures on the TPMS screen

Show the state of battery charge.

Plus a few light options and door locking options.

I'm considering buying from this website: https://www.bcables.com/

    The £21.99 with ENET Cable.

Is this any good - or should I be looking at something else completely?

    The car of course is a 2015 F30 330d M-Sport.

All thoughts and comments gratefully received.

I cant comment on whether the cable you link is any good but interested on any comments as like you I would like things such as the tyre temperatures displayed and battery details.. that said I noticed on another forum that several guys have had their 640d's flashed remotely with things like the tyre pressure temperature but also things like an Alpina gearbox flash which allegedly improves changes and economy and also a mod to the active sound so you can have the M6 exhaust note... I am 50 in three weeks - must be my midlife crisis looming!

Ha ha - I'm 50% older than you and can reliably inform you that mid-life crisis is a permanent condition in my case. :D  :driving:

Hi Bob, while the enet cable is what you need the software looks a bit dated (Ista excepted) Tis and Dis and vmware was really only needed for the e9x series. Also I see no mention of Esys? Which is the package you need for fdl coding.

With Esys and Ista there's no need for anything else, although I have used Tool32 on the odd occasion, but that was on a friends e90.

Ista-P (programming) won't be possible without an expensive icom interface, but you can use Esys for programming/flashing over enet.

I'll dig out a list of the software I have and see if I can make it available as a torrent. If you're happy to download it that way? I have a couple of bits and pieces that ensure the software never expires. :)

Edit: just realised they give you links for Ista. Personally I'd by an enet cable for no more than a tenner off ebay and I'll do you the rest.

As a matter of interest do you use the Tony Twoclicks rearm script for E-Sys Launcher? Would like to confirm it works before i download it

I used TokenBuster - which I don't think is available anymore. It generates a 50 year token.
Feedback from others who had it says it made the rearm script redundant.

Have you heard of 'BimmerCode', that will do what youre after without the probs of tweaked access for BM software,

Have a search for it and you'll find it easy enough. Download the app from teh PlayStore, although youo have to pay for it it was ony Mid £20's.

I use Bimmerocde and Bimmerlink, I bought the app when i bought the 550i, found it very useful, and there are plenty of guides online on how to use it. I have a bluetooth Veepeak OBD device which works well with it.
