That was a brave move, but you can't lose more than £4.8K and I suspect even if the battery failed it would be worth a bit in spares...fuel costs will be really low and the the £40K extra car tax burden would be gone now....it'd be cheap to run.
No expensive car tax on EVs registered before 1/4/2025. And they can be cheap to run. Mine is now on 45k miles, I have done 34 of that, and I have had paid for one service at £350, three tyres at £750 (one was a puncture), and the MoT as needed. No other repairs, no brakes or discs, and fuel at probably less than 5p a mile. Depreciation would be the stinger but if you are running through a company and can write off that against tax well it would still have been cheap. As it is probably about 80p a mile all in (exc insurance as that is very personal and what I pay might not be what you pay). Be interesting to see how many others can run a decent car at that pence per mile (inc depreciation).
My M5 was £2 a mile just for depreciation. You certainly pay to play... The Disco is certainly a car I would pay it for though!
My 2018 G30 530d (bought new, but now ~75k miles) has cost me ~75p/mile since new, everything included.
I guess that makes my ipace look reasonable value at about 87p including insurance given I have only had it 3 years and its only 4 years old. My new one will be 91p in lease costs alone assuming I just do the mileage allowance...
