I took my 1 hour daily exercise in the car today after cutting grass The roads were empty and I almost 5hit myself when I looked at the Speedo, without the presence of other cars the limits can’t half be exaggerated, Fair to assume had I been caught “goodbye liciense” First time the car has moved in almost 10 week's....(gulp!)
Yes the roads are very quiet. I had to go to the office on Friday. The first time for 6 weeks and it was nice to be out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not here in Cheshire. Three weeks ago it was like a ghost town with empty roads, but now the through traffic is building up each day. Obviously some people are not sticking to the Lockdown restrictions and going about business as normal. Let's just hope that the infection rate continues to decline.
Holiday makers sneaking over the bridge onto Anglesey are making the roads round hear a bit busier. Md daughter works in a pharmacy and getting people from away in but they only get one day's worth of medication and told to go to the normal place.
Same up here. Asda delivery driver was saying he's now seeing cars with bikes on the back rack, top boxes, same as any summer holiday traffic. Understand there was an incident in the local Tesco. Customer was going the wrong way, in the social distancing "one way" system, said she "didn't know the rules, doesn't live here". Not sure there was a lynching, but understand it didn't go down well. Back to battery charging, mine had an 'on the drive' top up this week. Peter
I've been watching cars passing on the road below during the day - many convertibles with the top down, none local afaics. Then one lot of emergency services sirens, followed c 15 mins later by a Police car with blues & twos - that usually signals an RTA, bad news for someone.
I've been out of the village in my car today for the first time in weeks. Got a call from hospital (about 10 miles away) to go and have a heart monitor fitted. It was a bit surreal - all done in the car park with staff in full PPE in a bay. They just handed me the monitor in a plastic bag with instructions on how to fit it myself. So drive in and drive out. What was a surprise was the volume of traffic on the roads at midday - it was almost normal levels. On the way back, we took the scenic route through countryside. We passed a garden centre where the car park was half full, and a long queue of people waiting to enter the building. So it's evident that lots of people are no longer in lockdown. I was under the impression that garden centres were still closed. So how are they managing to get around the restrictions? The North-West of England now has the highest number of Covid cases, outside of London. I wonder why.
If they have a freezer for ice cream etc in 'normal' times, they can claim to be a food outlet. I think the restrictions were relaxed for 'DIY' places too.
Two garden centres near us, both originally shut. 1) Is still shut but busy with telephone orders, free delivery or "collect" your own order from the car park, they place it on a pallet and you attend and pick ut up. 2) the other has just reopened, but with social distancing in place. Only one entrance and they are limiting the number of people inside at any one time. The local fish n chip shop has reopened, but only one customer inside at any one time? I did our weekly food shop yesterday...the roads were noticeably busier than last week, and queues outside all food shops
Aye, just wait for the tsunami when boris says "Weeeeell......you can go out for a little while...." I fear Joe Public will think this signals a return to "the way we were" - that's never likely to happen.
they are policing the bridge some days one of my work colleagues went on to the island last saturday and they were stopping all cars on the bridge but he wasnt stopped as he was in a liveried company vehicle
It's inevitable, and the media aren't helping with their "End to the lockdown" headlines. You just can't fix stupid.
The media are such a waste of time. I can’t believe the just how bad they have got Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So in the last week, I have charged my C63, my sons Polo and my wife’s M3. The Ctek charger has been earning its keep. My car is the worst for losing charge though, not because there’s anything wrong with it, but the hot V design means that the fan often runs after switch off to cool the turbos. But hey, it does mean that you can see them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After my previous post went to put charger on on Sunday ---- it is not working. No chance of going to Lidl or Aldi so looked for CTEC. MX5 on Amazon and eBay and not really available. Two I did find were 2 weeks delivery. other places out of stock. Surprisingly found out BMW sales on Amazon have them in at £88.01 including postage. Just had email from dpd arriving tommorow. Not much dearer than other Amazon suppiers when delivery added in (Amazon ones were not Prime).
