Had the drivers side mirror lamp fail on me last week so ordered a new set which came today . After watching a few You Tube Tutorials and armed with my plastic trim removal set I set about removing the door mirror glass , After about half an hour of gently prising coupled with lots of trepidation about breaking the mirror glass after each cracking sound ( which was really the sound of the clips coming out ) I got it off . New Indicator lamp fitted and working just fine . On to the passenger side and again after of around half an hour of gently prising and the same amount of heart palpitations it came of in one piece as well. Fitted the new lamp,on that side and all is well again . Got my MOT this month so it had to be done . But at the end of the day I m delighted , taking the glass off is the hardest part , not to mention a bit nerve wracking with the rest being very easy . Went for smoked glass lamps this time and they re much brighter , so am a happy boy today .
Nice job. Always satisfying when you manage a good DIY job. Had to take the mirror glass out when I fitted the gloss black mirror caps, a tense job…
Nice one, Murray - and the weather cooperated too, although you have your 'luxury' garage to work in. Hope you're looking after yourself.
