Amazing low mileages on some F430's... 08 plate, 7 owners, 15k miles They do look superb https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202006300702366?postcode=la128nb&sort=relevance&include-delivery-option=on&radius=1500&advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&price-from=500&aggregatedTrim=F1&make=FERRARI&model=F430&page=1
Wow - I hadn't logged in for a few days and then arrive to find this thread! I don't think there's much to add that hasn't already been said. But huge congratulations. It's an absolute beauty. As I opened the thread earlier, even my non-car-mad Partner stopped to stare at the screen and blurted out compliments. I remember you talking about this as a concept a little while ago and saw the early part of your thread on PH. I'm so glad (living vicariously through you!) that you did it! Can't wait for the running report, although I'm fairly sure it will be full of superlatives! What a machine.
It's just phenomenal Totally different league to anything else imo. I'm actually excited for you. Looking forward to future updates Ed
Gorgeous. I am a Ferrari man, me and biz partner have the debate Ferrari or Lambo, he's Lambo I am Ferrari. I was lucky enough to drive two Ferrari's occasionally, old bosses 550 Maranello and then his 360 Modena Spider. I was the only person in the company who he would let drive them. Usually just to take it back from Leeds to his house (well, I say house - https://yorkmix.com/yours-for-4-million-yorks-most-expensive-house/ how the other half live eh !) Only thing I would say is (not sure about older ones) but he had to have them serviced and timing belts done even if they had hardly moved.
Believe me he never did even though I would have taken bullets for him. He got a divorce and sold it about 2001, went bust in 2003. Came to work with me and my biz partner (we took on one of the companies from the administrators), we parted (lets say) less than a year later- don't think he could crack it anymore. Hes got a 640d now coincidently. (I'm nosey and check his reg every now and then) The Midas touched failed him in the end.
Insurers really do make you grind your teeth sometimes. Get quote online, call to confirm details because I don't trust them. Matey boy couldn't wrap his head round secure storage during the week at a different address, my house at weekends. I had to say the same thing four times (purpose built facility for expensive/cherished cars, CCTV, barriers, the works) after he described it as a barn, car park, Army base and car park again. This despite the fact they have 'Locked Compound' on a dropdown menu. Spoke to his boss who also said he'd never heard of my arrangement and would have to refer to it the underwriter. Forget it says I, I'll go somewhere else. Now with a specialist provider!
Previous owner only did 200 miles last year and yet still had to have an annual service - £950. I say had to, he didn't but he did because it's a Ferrari and potential buyers get really twitchy if there isn't a full service history.
I think you've set a precedent here, I'll take you Porsche and raise you a Ferrari.....I expect a Lambo soon... Seriously though, lovely car, I've always loved Ferrari's but sadly think they are financially beyond me ......enjoy
Not necessarily Don’t put yourself down.. But It’s about how you apportion and value your money If you lived in a smaller house maybe you could run to one... but would you do that....?? Everyone is diff’ and spends their money wildly differently.... I am running a polo 1.2 TDI for 1 car..... but I want to retire ASAP.... so my goals will be different to others... If pushed I could afford a Ferrari but it’s not on my radar at this stage... ( I would prefer a boat and holiday home..) and most likely never will never own one.. because it’s it’s not my thing.... A mate of mine has 1..... same as the Co.s a 430 in red...really nice and special . But...you can’t do much with it... you can’t take it to Tesco’s/ Waitrose you could get away with it.... and you can’t leave it anywhere... because it will be surrounded by tw@ts leaning all over it in minutes... You can own and use one in Cheshire however.. and areas of the south no doubt, and most people don’t like using them because the mileage damages their residuals.... you can go to a smart country pub for Sunday lunch... but you can’t go on holiday in it... because there’s no luggage space... It’s a very expensive toy in the end.. Each to their own.. Good luck ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
of course you can go on holiday in it just send the staff ahead with the luggage and you then meet them at your country pile easy
