I no longer have the BM as I traded in for a Hyundai ioniq hybrid believe it or not !

'03 e60 3.0 ltr petrol with manual 'box and most of the toys. On 136k now and still going strong.

 

Mine had to go at 130k
Spent loads on her but a suspicious vibration in the auto transmission may have been a bill too far.
Could have been the guibo but I think not

You're not alone - one or two members have made the transformation and become Porker owners (with the odd Land Rover thrown in)
But we don't hold it against them - as they say 'Variety is the spice of life'.

 

Hi Rick, any pics of the Hyundai ioniq hybrid? You may recall we like pics Is the car any good? what range do you get from the electric only driving? How do you find locating charging stations as i don't believe there are many around yet?

I'll sort a few pics when I get some time off in the week.

The car is self charging so no worries there. The best mpg I had so far was 80.3 mpg on a run.
Usually it goes round town and up to the hills for the (rural) school run where I get around 48mpg.

The BM on average returned 19.6 mpg

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on long term ownership of the Ioniq. I’ve had four or five of these from Enterprise car rental via work. Used for longer drives such as Swindon, Surrey and Oxford from NE B’ham where I live. Not 100% sold on the hybrid idea for those types of journey, struggles to get close to the diesel mpg of my 320d when I try to keep up with motorway speeds.
Technology is very good, impressed with that.
