I have just taken on an E53 which has a panoramic roof fitted, Somewhere in the past I seem to remember reading, that they can cause problems opening and closing them.<br />
<br />
I have not attempted to open it yet, as the last thing I needed, was to open the  roof, and not be able to close it!! Can anyone give me some advice about what does go wrong, and how to deal with it?<br />

after removing plastic trim  inside the boot lid and trying to locate source of leak ,so far rear washer for wiper is not leaking .<br />

It is the folding mechanism that is the problem, if I press the fold button, they will both fold  in, but then  they fold back out again straight away, and there is a load of loud clicking. for a few seconds  I thought that one press of the button was supposed to fold the mirrors in, so they stayed folded, and then a further press on the button would fold them back out to their normal position<br />

Comments / opinions so far:<br />

<li>Xline trim works well on black, shame the wheel arches aren&#039;t painted</li>
<li>Standard steering wheel looks just as nice as sport steering wheel, but it&#039;s thinner to grip</li>
<li>The headlights have been updated, the corona rings aren&#039;t round anymore, more pointed</li>
<li>The dials have been updated, slightly better the way nav instructions...</li>

Area normally carry&#039;s Wellingtons -Boots -- Dog Towels ect.  But due to present situation its all been cleaned out and cleaned.<br />

We have just swapped my wife&#039;s 530D for an X5 Hybrid and I have to say I am really impressed with it and the hybrid technology.  My wife only commutes a mile and a bit plus has to often collect our kids from school so this is perfect.  Power delivery is seamless.  The bit I really like is no road tax (as pre April 2017) and no congestion and pollution tax.<br />
<br />
Looking forward to understanding the X5s better - we have had a five series for the last eighteen years!<br />

I received this video of the new X2. I&#039;m not in the market for an SUV myself but thought others might be interested.<br />
It looks quite nice and compact for a X series. Not too sure about the roundels on the rear side panels - IMO they detract from the smooth lines of the body. <br />
