      <title>Silly jobs now mounting up...</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[So having had the car for over five years now, the list of jobs to do won&#039;t reduce unless I get on with them of course.<br />
<br />
The main one causing minor inconvenience with the car was a broken door mirror, caused about a long time ago by a courier driver opening his door about ten feet away and even with the best avoiding skill I could, still clipped him slightly.  Managed to tape and glue it together, as I thought I&#039;ll just replace it without going through the insurance.<br />

So here we go - another Spuffington ownership blog to pepper these pages with! <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie17" alt=":LOL:" title="Laugh    :LOL:" /><br />

Here we have my 2016 F22 228i M Sport which I collected on 4th November from Barrets BMW in Ashford as an AUC with 41,642 miles on the clock.  For tech boffins, the engine is the 2 litre, turbo&#039;d inline 4 cylinder N20 which is also found in the 220i.  In this car it&#039;s in a higher state of tune.  Some 242bhp which is good for around 5.8secs to 62mph...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Yesterday, I took my F30 to the BMW dealership for the driver&#039;s air-bag recall, and was given a M235i Gran Coupe as a courtesy car. First impressions - the interior trim etc seemed a bit cheap and tacky, especially the switchgear on the centre console. Not easy to select the right mode / switch while keeping eyes on the road. Also the seats were trimmed in what appeared to be a fake Alcantara with textile centre panels, but I guess the various leather options could be specced. The sports...<br />

It seems to accelerate slowly off the mark until it gets into second gear and then it is lightning quick.<br />

As it stands I have only driven it for a short amount of time, and in comfort mode.<br />

Initially I was looking at a 2015 but now thinking about a 2016.<br />

On auto trader the adverts for the 2015 says 0-60 @ 5.8 seconds.<br />

I&#039;ve just seen an advert for a 2016 but it says 0-60 @ 8 seconds.<br />

Finally all the main boxes were ticked by an advert from Douglas Park in Glasgow so a quick phone call saw us agreeing to head up there on the saturday to show them the trade in (Fiesta Ecoboost 1ltr) and test the new motor. Deal done, and it was back on the tuesday to collect and bring it back, dropping it straight in for some detailing work.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[So, have just fully filled the car for the second time since having it one month, so able to do an initial calculation. <br />
<br />
At 410 miles, showing 1/4 left, it was 45.9 actual, the car showing 49.1. So the usual 10% over estimation that most trip counters display. It has been in eco-pro (with s/s disabled) most of the time and showed a &#039;gain&#039; of 28 miles.<br />
<br />
I&#039;d say half urban commute of 6 miles each way, the other half having an hour-ish journey at each weekend leisure trip. This reflects the...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Having been impressed by a couple of friends M1x and M2x cars I decided to test drive one for myself. I did, and loved it, so the hunt for the right one began. Eventually I found it, a nice M235i in Mineral Grey with oyster leather and a few nice toys on board. The downside is it was in Hull, and I&#039;m in Tyneside. Fate stepped in, and rather than trade my Cayman in to BMW I sold it back to the dealer I bought it from, between York and Hull. It was a quick trip down the road after dropping it...<br />
