As some of you may have gathered I'm currently in the 'Land of Far Far Away' - BiH. Travelling 2600 miles means a lot of brake dust and with temperatures around 26C a lot of tar spots - to say nothing of the huge bug-spatter collection which at 100mph in these temperatures bakes on harder than a cornflake on the rim of yesterday's cereal bowl. So Tuesday morning I set to work - taking it nice and easy. I finished the last buffing up of the top protection coats this morning. So the rest of the week can now be given over to more serious stuff - like lying in the garden and having BBQs and beers. Here's a few pics - apologies about the extreme light and shade - but I can't seem to find a way to reduce the power of the big yellow thing high in the sky.
The engine bay was done with AutoGlym Engine & Machine Cleaner followed by AG Vinyl & Rubber Care. Here's the list of what else I used: AG Insect Remover AG Shampoo & Conditioner AG Tar Remover AG Magma Billberry Wheel Cleaner AG Super Resin Polish AG Extra Gloss Protection - 2 coats AG Tyre Protector BMW Nano Hard Wax - 2 coats BMW Gummi-Pflege Rubber Care AG Leather Balm Plus another product similar to Iron-X which my grandson gave me and I have forget the name of as I decanted it into a smaller bottle to take with me as space for all this detailing kit is a problem.
Nice! We're having a quick week in Croatia end of May so looking forward to that. That engine bay though, maybe I should pay more attention to mine!
@Singvogel I take you have a complete selection of detailing products in BiH as well as in Scotland? I expect the boot wouldn't have enough room for suitcases otherwise
@Singvogel the car is looking great and he engine bay is a credit to you sir your detailing bag is like an Autoglym advertisement with a few extra additions
I gave my engine bay a quick wipe over on Monday and whilst it is not as clean or as thorough as the job that @Singvogel has done it look acceptable I used Autosmart G101 to give it a wipe over and then used carpro perl diluted 1:1 with distilled water sprayed on to a microfibre applicator and then wiped over with a clean microfibre, i only spent half an hour on it but it was enough to remove the winter grime
Looking fantastic & fresh.. Having spat the dummy today after a wash a dry, a spring shower whilst I showered and changed, I came out to a car with chicken pokes.... grrrrr! I hate black as much as I hate beading porn....... didn’t stay clean for a single hour! Enjoy you break!
Lookin good in the sun. We could do with a bit of that sun here this week. Drive home tonight through a hail storm and had to end a telephone call as we couldn't hear each other
Chicken pokes - Water beading that had dried with airborne /waterborne dust leaves spotty residue Most likely due to dirty clouds or nearby building work, (driving my OCD insane as it’s been going on for seems like an age, very wind direction dependent ) Eurgh! I just googled beading porn.... beading porn was meant as the tight water droplets left after thorough waxing, where a waxed car will have tight water beads and a non waxed car will have large droplets..
i can only imagine the results you got for that image search, i had better not try untill the missus leave the room
After a quick look, all I can think of is ......... best not [ genital warts] Note to self -take better care of wording-
I think not, Kev. Youtube is awash with better vids than I could ever make. Kind of you to suggest I could do that though, thank you for that.
