I was away for a couple of days last weekend and when I jumped in the car to head for work on Tuesday the battery was completely flat. The roadside assist chap arrived fairly quickly to get me going again and noted that a couple of faults had been recorded and suggested that a dealer visit would be in order. To cut a long story short, the problem turned out to be the dash cam, which hadn't turned itself off when it was supposed to. I have the BMW camera which was fitted by the supplying dealer, my local dealer checked the installation and it had indeed been carried out in accordance with the BMW fitting instructions. Following discussions with Germany (I guess) it transpires that the instructions were in fact incorrect for this model and I had the dubious honour of being the first person anywhere to experience this issue, although probably not the last. Anyway, car is now repaired and I'll be getting it back later.
