Recently i noticed that when i use the windscreen washer on my car, there is an acidic and rotten smell.
also the washer jets on the driver side of the screen do not pump water high enough into the the screen.:-(
i recently filled the washer fluid reservoir with the bmw washer concentrate/water mixture after a low washer fluid warning and it appears the previous owner form whom i bought the car in march has been using tap water.
how do i fix this issue?

It's likely to have "gunk" in the bottom of the reservoir - common issue on the F11 and stops the pump working altogether. Happened on my F11 despite using good aftermarket screenwash all year round.

If it's easy to get at clean it out and only use BMW screenwash.

As above…you will need to remove the tank and give it a good clean. Had exactly the same issue with my old E92, low pressure and then no washers at all. When I pulled it out I changed the two filters as well, they were cheap and easy to source. Always used official washer fluid since then!

Before stripping everything out to get at the tank I would be trying a couple of Steradent tablets dissolved in warm water and added to the tank.

Not an 'Old Wife's Tale' at all - it really can work if the system isn't totally gunged up.

Hopefully you can stop the smell and getting fully functioning again if it's not too far gone.

Definitely worth a go with the Steradent and hot water, I tried this with mine but it was too far gone. The gunk simply settled back at the bottom and blocked the filters again.

it seems that the smell has gone after i topped up with genuine bmw washer fluid/deionised water ,but flow is still bit less through driver side windscreen jets but
the passenger side windscreen jets and rear windscreeen jets flows are fine
