    They are very tempting
I come across a lot of them, whilst the E39 has never been in my life I cant help share the passion for the champagne II's
Though I did just notice the fog lights and thought WTF!

Headlight eyebrows, Schnitzer bonnet badge, fog lights, rear screen diffuser, boot spoiler.......it's a Halfords 'drive-through'.

Don't think I have seen fog lights like that since the 80's

Funny really, the car has a bunch of "ebay add ons" and now is for sale itself on ebay.

I particularly like the 'S' badge on the boot ;). This guy obviously doesn't know what a rare car he has there or he wouldn't have ruined it.

Looks otherwise like a lovely motor, but makes you wonder about its past with all that 80's bling!

It does look like a decent motor underneath all that bling. I'm surprised E39mad hasn't commented, the interior is the same as his last E39.

Wonder how much work / expense there is in de-bringing it? I suppose you could always offset the cost by ebaying the stuff you've removed!

I suspect underneath there's a very nice car.

Is the money not a bit rich

    The bling is minimal ?
    Self adhesive brows
m12 bolt on fog light mounts, most probably trashed the front bumper fitting
    Rear spoiler x 2

Still a well presented car in the photo's

    Oops,

    Forgot the silly badging
Is the "S" German for " look I have a really nice base car and I'll stick lots of shite! On it if I want "

I really hate it when people abbreviate as its wide open for interpretation

Lovely cars and this one could be lovely again but puts you off thinking one of the previous owners did this

Shame the Champers II's did not have heated electric seats (were in the Champers I's)

I had the same interior in an Orient Blue 530i with the Poplar trim

All the 'add-ons' makes me wonder if they're there to distract a potential buyer "Look it's got extra lights, extra badges, extra crap...." and keep them from looking too closely or asking the right questions.......

    But I'm a suspicious old codger. :D

The damage looks minimal. If the car came with halogen lights the additional front lights might have made some sort of vague sense. A beautiful car that someone just had to mess about with for Halfords money. Looks like it can be saved without too much effort.

I personally am not keen on all that 'customising', but the owner may well have loved his car and therefor perhaps treated it well otherwise.

I do like the interior. Very much in keeping with the period it was built in, methinks.

Is the BMW badge on the hood changed as well? Or does that look normal to you guys?

Customising can take many forms. Some desirable, some not so.
Ive been known to 'fiddle' with my car, although (IMO) somewhat more subtly than that.

I think the hood badge is AC Schnitzer.
