Mine is 13 years old in 2 weeks time and has no wear marks or tears over that time and 68k miles.
What sort of material is Alcantara? It looks good.
It is a Suede like material.
I have had it on a few previous cars Golfs/Passats and it does stand up well and long lasting.
Spotted a Boxster S last night that really caught my eye, made some tentative inquiries and it had been sold already! It'd only been up less than a day!!
Looks like he has another Porsche though soon...
PORSCHE 981 BOXSTER 3.4 S PDK, 2014/14 REG STUNNING WITH HUGE SPECIFICATION
**SOLD** BUT 2014 CAYMAN S PDK 981 ARRIVING SOON CALL
Cayman Schmayman, I want a Boxster!
Is renting a weekend toy an option, or is that missing the point?
You sound like my wife! It is an option but I wanted something to travel overseas in and I had real trouble finding anyone who would rent me an 'exotic' car to take outside the UK. To be honest I don't particularly want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a toy I can hardly use but the kid/idiot in me is strong.
That looks a very nice Boxster, but at that price you could get a 911, albeit an older model.
The Boxster's a sweet ride though..
As a daily driver supercar 911's are great but if you want a weekend toy the Boxster is pretty unbeatable.
Years ago when I had a Boxster and it was in for a service, one of the sales geezers took me out in a 996 and I remember being massively underwhelmed by it despite a difference of nearly 100bhp+. The thing I like about Boxsters is the engine is just behind your head and you can hear the thing working, you almost feel part of it.
Sounds like you've made your mind up really...
To be honest, if a C63 came along with the right bits on it I'd probably trade mine in for one of those and be done with it. I just wish BMW would do a properly fast estate like an RS4. Or a C63. Or I could wait until an M340i comes out..
Plus an older 911 could be a money pit. Maybe a Boxster is the right choice.
don't forget to check what your insurance would be
I'm currently looking at the 987 .2 from 2009 onwards ,but most are basic spec in my colour choice :-(
What colour are you after?
Grey with a black leather interior. Heated seats and pdk hopefully (although a manual may also work for us)
