I was meant to replace bike last year, I never....
Instead I pretty much got lazy and neglected or made little use, I still have a functional Trek 29er,
Since the start of the year I’m back pushing pedals, initially hard work though, getting on top of it!
Anyways, for me there’s no better way of raising the interest than splashing out.

So thought I’d throw it out for suggestion, price range £1500- £2500

Branded bikes, Specialized, Cannondale etc are possibly & foolishly out! I’ve been looking at the lesser known brands on the premise of getting a better specced bike.
    Any suggestions ?

    Ps I’m after a Hardtail!

Can't speak from experience but friends have always been pleased with their Boardman bikes.
The reviews are always good. So Halfords may be worth a look.

    Kindest Regards
    Carl.

    Many thanks Carl

I think and could be entirely wrong, Boardman make very good road bikes,
The mountain bikes seem to scrimp on components

But again, could be wrong I’ll have a look Thanks
(Canyon / BMC has my thoughts)

I've had a bunch of them over the years. Liquigas Cannondale was always my favourite road team back in the day

Not sure about Cube, they always seem to be a fair bit cheaper than the equivalents, and a few dealers I spoke to didn’t rate them and saw them as a budget bike. But I’m no expert.

    Yeah perhaps!
Looking at bikes is far worse than finding a car!
I’m sure I’m looking at the wrong things, fork ( fox 32 /34, brake set(Xt minimum) and gear train (Xt minimum).....
I’m basing my search against the Canyon below, maybe I should just be done and get

    https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/grand-canyon/grand-canyon-al-slx-29-9-0-trail.html

It was bad enough buying a wrist watch, there’s waiting lists for bikes too!

Having owned a cube LTD, I wouldn't buy another
You get better gear on them, but the frames are rubbish

Have a cube 29er, which is okay for the money (£600), and does fine for light off roading, canal tow paths and the odd family outing. The lockout fork is brilliant.
