So Sundays for me I like to pop in to Card dealerships. Yesterday we took a look at a Touareg, well I say look, the garage didn't have any in the showroom and only 1 sold one outside. So took a butchers around that , although he didn't open it up for me to look at the practicalities of boot size and rear seat legroom etc. Probably because I mentioned the word "Lease" or because of COVID. But PCP deals on these seem to be good. 0% finance deals which brings the monthlies down to a respectable £640 odd a month with £5k deposit in. This is for a Blackiline R model which retail about £63k from memory. Delivery is 16 weeks wait More man maths needed...
Interesting to hear. I've been having a nosey at alternatives over the weekend and this came up on my list (see my other thread on car heartbreak)... I've seen a few of these new Touaregs around and they look the business in R Line trim. However, what puts me off is how quickly the previous ones have looked dated/cheap and how all the reviews I've read state "comfy but unengaging". Then again - better than fast but broken, which what my Cayenne seems to be.
Got recovered this morning. Almost total gearbox failure. Can barely drive it - constant shuffling, slamming gears, ignoring paddle shift inputs, stuttering, lurching, vibrations like driving over cobbles.
Yup. Only upside at this stage is the lady on the Service Desk at OPC Cambs is on my side and has just called to say she'll ensure they get to the bottom of it and has given me a bit of a steer on the history of the car (had a replacement Transfer Box at 17k miles!).
And the depreciation on the Touareg will be epic compared to an X5…… Scrap that idea… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes very true, if leased I wouldn’t be assed but then lease cost and upfront is pushing towards BMW /Volvo Xc90 money. I think proof would be a test drive but it’s going to be dull as dishwater driving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
It might not be as dull as you think But I still wouldn’t have one…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh no really, they seem to be considered a premium brand now. Not sure if they’ve always been like that but the XC90 was impressive when we took. A butchers at it. Not driven one though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Volvo definitely a brand on the up, not sure the driving experience is there , but Scandi-cool, nice interiors and seemed to have improved the quality.....cabins are a nice place to be, tech seems to be spot on too...
slightly old article but look who was bottom... https://europe.jdpower.com/press-releases/2019-uk-vehicle-dependability-study Volvo not so bad
Reads like a real load of tosh Lexus aren’t even on the table Top brand with least problems per 100, Peugeot… ?? What, right yeah… Special mention about Vauxhall and the insignia and the mokka….. Who are we kidding here…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Attractive lease deal here… a lot of car and worry free unexpected maintenance breakdown costs. Highish deposit but it is the black edition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I thought so too. Would need to test drive one though. Again though, 140 mile round trip in the X5 today and I just can’t fault her. Damn these thoughts! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
