    Hi all,

the oil service on my E90 320d is overdue and has turned red. I have now carried out a oil service, having tried the dash reset option i cant reset it. the oil service indicator is red with -500mls listed. holding the BC button to reset it does not do anything.

Do i need to hook it up a laptop? i have a laptop with Inpa on it, but all the diags come up in german, so not very helpful to me!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Welcome aboard, naz :wavey:

Not sure about your model, but if you can access the 'hidden menus' through presses of the dash mileage reset button in a certain way you ought to be able to reset the service indicator for your oil change.

If it hasn't worked then chances are you haven't done it correctly so I would go back over the instructions. Make sure the red warning has gone off the dash and you are back to a normal display ( such as mpg etc) it wont work otherwise.

    Hi slim boy fat,

thanks for the welcome, I was a member of the original bmwland site years ago and rejoined when the new site came up a few years later. However since then I have given up on modding on my old E46 and E36's and also changed to VW:nono:. I now have a stock E90 320d LCI that i have done nowt to!

I still tend to do my own service, hence the reset issue i having with the oil service change.
I read instructions online to press the odometer button until the triangle appears and then cycle through the reset options using the left stalk. i can reset the date on some features but on the Oil service, pressing and holding the BC button is not having any effect.

I was watching a you tube video last night where the poster has a permanent oil service light but he said it was due to failure of some part. Not sure if I have a similar issue so am keen to get INPA working, however my previous attempt resulted in having all the error codes in german, which wasn't very helpful.

I reset mine on my last E46 after an interim oil change , am sure I had to try the reset a few times before it worked .
