Had a chat with sales folk from Sytner and Barons so far, they have my details should the right spec 440i come into stock.
The model Ed suggested had M Sport suspension deletion. I’ve always wondered how different the car is after this modification, in terms of handling and comfort. I thought the same about the spec, but have dealt with Dick Lovett, and they seemed decent fair people.
I drove an F30 335d x drive which although an Msport, came with SE suspension as standard. It wasn’t good-far too floaty. That said, new springs aren’t expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Love the Melbourne Red metallic on this one: https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202009063386826?quoteref=6d0df694-6564-4800-bb91-a755259cfe70 Now all I need to do is find this in a 440i engine, digital cockpit and maybe the M body kit (boot lip spoiler and rear diffuser) then I will be happy...
I d go for the 440 i Coupe, or Convertible , it s hard to be able to use the extra power of an M3 /M4 nowadays unless you do track days .
Had a good talk/email correspondence with a salesperson from Baron’s today. We shall see what the follow up call tomorrow brings.....
Every seed that’s planted comes to fruition. This place has more joy than a garden centre! Good luck with your search and Happy New Car Day
Some truth in that. My eldest has just bought an M135i (3 litre) - with just a little encouragement - and it’s pretty rapid. Same engine as my old 535i but lighter, which makes a lot of difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree, our road systems now are not so suited to high BHP cars now, but, when I stamp on the M5's accelerator pedal and it is like pulling the pin on a grenade, I kind of forget that, find the right roads - and there still are some, then it can be just the best
Deposit placed on a 2017 440i coupe with 12,990 miles. Many of the trimmings I was wanting: Mineral Grey Black leather HK stereo Electric memory seats MSport+ pack MSport brakes Later software nav/comms Rear view camera Auto lights/wipers Auto main beam Etc! Missing the digital dash but does have the full black dash, also missing the rear diffuser and boot lip spoiler, but they are easily added. All being well I’m driving down the Farnborough next Saturday. 2 hour 20 drive back.
Looking good. 440i will be decent. The only issue I have heard of on the B58 is sticking oil filters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks. I followed TNTTNT’s thread on his 540i having the same issue at his main dealer. As this has 12 months warranty I will make sure it has an interim oil service just before the end, just had one done. Will also have a look under the bonnet and see if there are signs of the filter housing being changed. Won’t be tackling that myself! Also went for the AG LifeShine paint/leather/wheels treatment. Have been very impressed with this on the E92, definitely worth it in my eyes. I’m already on the BMW performance parts website.......
Yes lots of opportunities for enhancements! When the tyres are worn, you could switch to MPS4S and if you want sportier handling, maybe Eibach springs. And of course there is the BMW sound and power kit for more power with warranty in tack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It really is a while new world of upgrades! There are offers on the sound and power kits now, down to £1.5K I think. Remap and exhaust. Hmmm..... I am quite excited if the truth be told.
