Ok I have been thinking about a space saver for my F34, BMW don't make one so it will have to be aftermarket but
I'am struggling with the size as I run a staggered setup on 19's as below:

    F: 225/45/19
    R: 255/40/19

Any guidance would be helpful as these are the options offered by the wheelshop online:

    125/80/18 advised 1% smaller
    125/70/18 advised 4.5% smaller

I'm guessing 125/80/18 as being xdrive can't be more than 2% difference but not sure how to check it???

Any help would be gratefully received

    Thanks

    Peter

    Hi,

Thanks for the info I had already done that but wasn't sure if I had done it correct when I checked, was hoping for clarification from someone a little more tyre savy than me :D. However I think you did it so (y)

What are your concerns about xDrive? We are talking about space savers are we not? They are emergency get you home kits, allowing you to sort your puncture out as soon as you are able. You should only be driving at 50 mph once fitted! It says that on the tin (label on the wheel).

With my soon to arrive LCI 2020 X1 xDrive 20i M Sport I have specified the space saver and jack. Note, it is xDrive albeit front wheel drive bias instead of rear wheel bias on my previous xDrive on my X3.

Yours is rear wheel biased xDrive so you will be fine running with a space saver.

On some BMWs with M Sport brakes, you might not be able to fit because of brake disc fouling. The X1 is an example. You need to check with dealer or BMW.

    Hi,

135/80/18 should clear the brakes I was just concerned about the 2% tolerance for xdrive models that everyone bangs on about . Whats 50 mph :whistle::D
