After being given the notion to clean the car by Singvogel, more like shamed into it, I’ve given the 320 a good clean.
Full wash with AG Conditioner, then used my clay mitt to get rid of the rash of tar and debris from the lower flanks and arches. Any heavy tar had a treatment with AG Tar Remover. I’d previously checked with AG that this wouldn’t invalidate the guarantee on the LifeShine and they said not.
Then rewashed, dried and a coat of AquaWax to bring the shine/beading back to standard.
Also got under the bonnet, a disgrace really....washed and rinsed then dried. Nothing too in-depth.

Considering this is an 8 year old car with 81K miles on the clock, I’m really pleased with how it turns out.

the car looks great and after the buckets have been put away and you stand back and smile you know the hard work has been worthwhile

l normally enjoy giving the car a good clean but all the TLC that the car will receive early next week wll be somebody else's hard work as l dropped the car off at the Detailers for its bi annual prestige valet and ceramic coating top up and on Tuesday it will be taken across to BMW for ts MOT just before its fifth birthday

    Cheers all, appreciate the comments.
The wipe over with the clay mitt makes a big difference after a winter. Lovely smooth paintwork again.

sliver cars also seem very forgiving. l had a Titan Silver E60 5er and even when it was dirty it looked ok but when you gave it a wash it came up a treat and looked nice just like your does (y)(y)

Apparently mine is blue, according to the V5.
    Silverstone 2 official colour.
Definitely has a silver overtone to my eyes.

Did BMW change the name of that paint colour from silverstone blue to silverstone 2 at some point?

sliver or blue it still looks very nice (y)(y)

A couple of downpours is an opportunity to take some gratuitous beading photos:

It’s amazing the detail you can see when the car is clean, a trapped grain of dirt in a bead:

I’ve always had a thing for car cleaning. Kind of a Zen like approach to blocking out all of the other nonsense of life.
I know it will be filthy by Wednesday, but I don’t really care.
Also first home wash since October, the hose pipe has been out of action since then, kitchen new build. Finally fitted it a week or so ago, have been dying to get the buckets and products out for ages.

Thanks for all the kind words. Much appreciated.

The plan is to replace the 320d next spring, not sure we can find another car I enjoy washing as much......

Love those wheels. I think that’s quite a rare car you have there in that colour with the spec you have.

I searched for a while to get this one, and it was 8 miles away at the local Sytners in the end.
There is a near identical car around my way, two digits out on the reg plate as well, it that doesn’t have the rear spoiler or the diffuser.
Clearly I need a diffuser with a 2 litre diesel.....

Thanks for the comment. I’m a huge fan of these wheels, knew I needed a set as soon as they came out.

The replacement has a lot to stack up against.

    Same here. :)

BTW, lovely looking example and great beading. (y)

The E92 is one of the best looking BMW models of the last 10 or so years, IMO. Had a day in a 330d, while owning my E91, nicely balanced car.

I agree with @Peter definitely one of the best lookers. Especially on @Wynne71 ’s wheels

I know what you mean. The E92 just has the right angle and proportions. I’m on my second, first being this 2008 325i.

Nice job, I looked for a set of those wheels for my F22 but found a different set with winter tyres on at a price I couldn't turn down so went for them instead. Looks good (y)
