    Hiya,

Has anyone else experienced this on their real tail pipes?

It was already like this when I got the car. So I guess prev owner had used a scratch pad or metal or acid cleaner or something.

Any type of paint I could use to touch it up?

Mask it off and give it a spray with matt or satin black paint from an aerosol tin.

Thanks for replies. Do you think I need anything with heat resistance?

It wouldn't hurt, but I'd think not vital.

I would go for a specialist high temperature/exhaust paint. Frost and Eurocarparts list some.

Sperex make HT exhaust pant, which will stand the heat of an exhaust manifold - but as others have said the tail pipes should not really get that hot, so some matt or satin black ought to do the trick!
