Anyone else use the Shell loyalty scheme? Used to have the card, as I use a number of hire cars for work I would fill them up and tot the points up, of course to use for my car.....
This was stopped a few weeks ago and replaced with a new app. Several random free chocolate and coffee offers pop up, most useful.
Over the past ten visits I’ve spent (mixture of work and me spending) £569 at the garage, so I was expecting a nice money off voucher. When you’ve used the app ten times, minimum £15 spend I think, you get a money off voucher. Guess what the money off is after spending £569?

    £5?

I have a shell card, not used it for a while though as last 2 or 3 months, every time I've needed fuel, I've stopped at a BP garage as no shell around where i was.

I guess i'm in for a surprise when i try to use the card next time..

That's why I don't have loyalty cards for shops etc - too much hassle for virtually no reward. =(

£3 back.... is that all.... that still doesn’t make it cheap enough to be competitive..!!

I just switched to the new scheme and now use the new card. I find the app too flaky. The Shell app for paying at the pump is very useful and has integrated well with my Go account.

I run my car on V-Power. Nothing else goes in. So if Shell wants to give me a few crumbs from time to time I'll take them. Not interested in drinks and sweets, but do get a few quid off fuel from time to time.

I mainly use Shell, usually use the regular Diesel but every now and then i put some V-Power diesel in, maybe every couple of months as makes a difference on the price. I have a shell card atm and use that but as said recently when I've needed fuel, only BP station been around so hoping next time i can go to Shell.

Under the "old " Shell Drivers' Club card system, the loyalty was worth 1/2p a litre on regular fuel and up to 2p/litre on V-Power. Not much when at my local, V-Power carries an 18p/litre premium. The new App-based scheme, as noted above, is less rewarding. I also have a Texaco card, it's 1p/litre on regular fuel, double that on their version of V-Power. With my mileage, I typically see £20-30a year come back to me.

Certainly cheaper to fill up at the local supermarkets financially. Still not sure as to the impact on the engine.

I had old card and changed to a new card. I use vpower and usually I am only putting £50 every couple of weeks, yet I still received £ 3.50 or so voucher for fuel fairly often.
For sure the new system is less rewarding.
